why I do what i do
It all started...
When I was a child, I had a dream to move to New York City. THE BIG APPLE!
Slowly but surely, and after nearly a decade of relentless effort, I managed to make my dream a reality. It didn't come easy, it took me a long time, but I did it. The opportunity emerged following a few blows in the process, letting-go of the consistent trying, reading books upon books, and serendipitously coming across Columbia University, a kind teacher, and a Masters program that married my passions with the place I felt so drawn to.
Even then, when the time came to leave, it wasn't without a little duress; I had a successful business, a car, my family and friends. It was a lot to leave behind. But when the moment came, I wasn't about to let the opportunity pass by me by; I felt like it was my path to take, my destiny, so I stepped on the plane with as enough money to make it through the first semester.
That was nearly 4 years ago, and what has happened since making that big decision has been nothing short of miraculous. Do you believe in miracles?
I have been lucky enough to travel to places that I'd only ever seen on a map before I started my journey, I've been homeless and heartbroken along the way, and I've also been extremely fortunate to learn more than I could ever ask for. More important than that though, I've met people along my journey that I will call my friends and family for a lifetime; without them I simply wouldn't have completed the Masters and experienced all that I have.
The reason I am a holistic health coach because I feel blessed to have made my dream come true, I have seen first hand the endless possibilities and opportunities that come to fruition when you follow your heart. It is an honour that I can offer others the tools and techniques that I have utilised and learned along the way; coupling that with the passion for living holistically and a little nudge in the right direction (thank you to all of the mentors and angels that popped up along my path!).
I do not consider myself a guru, nor am I a mentor; I even struggle with the term 'life-coach' if I'm completely honest. I do not believe anybody should 'idolise' another human being; we all have our triumphs and trumps along the way, and what happens when that idol falls?
I'm simply a person who cares a great deal about the people I'm lucky enough to work with, and I will help anybody, when they call upon. When I opened my first business as a personal trainer all those years ago, a friend asked:
'What makes you stand out from all the other personal trainers in the world?"
My response was simple:
"Because I care deeply. I genuinely care about the people I work with, they are family to me and I am there for them whenever they need me."
I've learned a great deal over the past years exploration:
- From uncovering my ego-complex To returning to unconditional love;
- From forgiveness To fortitude,
- From being purpose driven To living in the present moment;
- From learning about the divine feminine To learning and embodying the divine masculine,
- From channeling past lives To learning about Atlantis and Lemuria,
- From learning Reiki and Spiritual Healing techniques
- From testing the waters of quantum physics To encountering the time-space continuum,
- From the power of music To the power of movement (and non-movement),
- From understanding frequency and vibration To returning to the purity and magnificence of nature, the universe and each of us that live within it.
I will forever be a student.
I'm not trying to be flashy, or compare myself to other people out there that do this job or any job for that matter, I am simply here to be of service and to help people become all that they can be.
I believe we are all but a reflection of the stars that are above us in the night sky.
There are billions up there, just as there are down here on earth, and we all have the ability to shine just as brightly.
My job is to help and guide people in creating a sustainable lifestyle, that is purpose-driven and fundamentally holistic, while the client continues to build a toolbox of techniques and skills, that helps to harness an uncompromising confidence and a thorough fearlessness in the face of adversity.
IT IS TIME TO reach out.
